The two previous weekends Badminton Europe organized two BWF Coach Education Tutor courses.
From 8-10 June, a Coach Education level 1 Tutor course was delivered by Joann Hughes (ENG) and Fran Dacal (ESP) in Kiev, Ukraine. The course gathered 18 participants from 10 different countries.
It was an intense two and a half day-course which was well-managed by the tutors. The participants were able to learn a lot about the basics needed to become a Tutor (educator of coaches).
This kind of course mixes both practical sessions, where participants are delivering sessions as coaches and tutors, and theoretical sessions in a class room, which allows them to reflect on what they have been delivering on court and identifying their areas of improvement.
The following weekend, from 15-17 June, a Coach Education Level 2 course was delivered in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal. Tom Causer (ENG) and Thomas Csiffary (SWE) were in charge of the delivery and had to assess 12 participants from 8 different countries.
This course is targeted at making the participants become Level 2 Tutors, which will allow them to deliver Coach Education level 2 courses.
The participants are getting a deeper understanding of the tutor’s role and go through all the content of the books of Level 2.
Badminton Europe would also like to thank the Ukrainian Badminton Federation and the Portuguese Badminton Federation for the excellent organization and facilities provided during this weekends.
