The 2019 European Games will carry world ranking points and thereby points for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games qualification. Thus, attracting many top players to the tournament.

There will be 15 sports. 50 countries. Over 4000 athletes. In 23 disciplines. And Badminton will be one of the feature disciplines, resulting from the 7000 ranking points on offer to the winner.  

Badminton at the 2019 European Games will take place 24-30 June 2019, with the five finals being played over the last two days. In total 160 players will qualify for the event. In total 32 Men’s Singles, 32 Women’s Singles, 16 Men’s Doubles, 16 Women’s Doubles and 16 Mixed Doubles will take part.

The qualification will be decided by the BWF World Ranking lists of 28 March 2019. For more information on the rules and regulations click here.

Best way to prepare for the European Games?
On 6-9 September 2018 Belarus will be hosting a Circuit tournament for the first time – a Future Series tournament which will serve as test event for the European Games. The event take place in the same venue chosen for badminton at the 2019 European Games – the Falcon Club in Minsk. This will be on many players radar as a milestone in their road to Minsk.
