Another great win for Team Europe at today's Axiata Cup 2013 in Surabaya. Europe beat Asia 3-1 and secured the second victory in the competition after yesterday's 3-1 triumph against Vietnam. Carolina Marin showed an excellent performance by beating world number 26 Yip Pui Jin of Hongkong in three exciting games 21-18, 19-21, 21-18. Scott Evans lost to former world number one Lee Hyun-il of Korea in two games (13-21, 11-21).

Nathan Robertson and Jenny Wallwork gave Europe a 2-1 lead after a flawless and inspiring match. The English mixed duo beat former world champion Zheng Bo with partner Ashwini P 21-16, 21-14. Russian duo of Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov continued their good form by taking the deciding third point for Team Europe as they overpowered Bao Chunlai and Tarun Kona 21-15, 21-12.
