The young women’s singles from Germany has traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, with the German women’s team and will face tough opponents in group B.

Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong will make up group B along with Germany at the TOTAL BWF Uber Cup Finals 2018.

- We had a really good team tournament in the European stage, where we managed to get the silver medal, Yvonne Li, 20, said to Badminton Europe.

- This time on the world stage, we face a very tough group consisting of the host nation Thailand, Taiwan and Hong Kong, who all have world class players within their ranks.

The German women will be up against Thailand on Sunday May 20th at 2:00 PM local time, which means 9: AM CEST (Central European Summer Time).

From Huelva to Bangkok
Germany’s women’s team consist of Fabienne Deprez, Linda Efler, Johanna Goliszewski, Luise Heim, Isabel Herttrich, Lara Kaepplein, Olga Konon, Carla Nelte, Miranda Wilson, and Li herself.

- We had our focus on the European Championships in April, but after the tournament ended we tried to switch our concentration right away to the next big tournament, which is the Uber Cup in Bangkok.

Li reached the quarter-finals at the recent European Championships in Huelva and hopes to continue her form in Bangkok.

- The goal for us would be to try to grab the chance of getting to compete with the world class players and play our best. We have the underdog-role in the group, but we will try to do everything to cause an upset.
