Anne Tran and France’s women’s team are ready for the TOTAL BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2018. Anne Tran is looking forward to the tournament, and she has noticed that the French team are in a strong group.
Initially, France did not expect to be travelling to Bangkok as they did not make qualification at the 2018 European Women’s Team Championships this February. But they qualified for the 2018 Uber Cup in March, when Spain withdrew their team.
- Going to Uber Cup was kind of unexpected for the French team but we are really glad to have the opportunity to play that competition and get more experience, says Anne Tran to Badminton Europe, and adds:
- We had some good trainings before leaving tonight to Bangkok, and I think the most important will be to have a good fighting spirit and support between us girls.
A strong group
The French team are in group D and will be up against China, Indonesia and Malaysia. Tran is aware of the strength of their opponents in Bangkok is looking forward to the challenge.
- We have a very strong group but there is a real chance to play against some of the best player in world, so we will give everything we have to play a good performance there.
France’s first tie at the 2018 Uber Cup will be against China on court 4, this Monday May 21st. Tran and her team mates will begin at 9:00 AM local time, which is 4:00 AM Central European Summer Time (CEST).
