In what was one of the matches of the tournament the Adcock’s bounced back from an 8-1 & 17-13 deficit in the deciding set against Mark Lamsfuss and Isabel Herttrich to make the final for the second year running and are on track to defend their title.

-We kept telling ourselves that we have been in that position before and come back and knew we could do it again. We just kept believing.

The Germans had two match point opportunities themselves but the experience and doggedness of the Adcock’s saved both before taking their own opportunity at 24-23

-We have to be proud of what we did today. You know there are things in life that are far more important that winning of loosing badminton matches but we enjoyed that match today.

The large crowd stayed glued to the match throughout and both Chris and Gabby could feel the energy and were complimentary of the support today and all week in Huelva.

-The crowd were so loud and I think both us and the Germans gave them an entertaining match. We could hear some of the crowd cheering for us and some for the Germans but this atmosphere is the kind of environment all players love and we certainly play better in noise like we had today.

The Adcock’s now head into tomorrow’s final where they will play Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen (pictured above). The Danes beat second English pair Lauren Smith and Marcus Ellis to get within one match of their maiden European title.

-It was a long match today and Marcus and Lauren put a lot of pressure on us. We had to dig really deep to get through and look forward to the final tomorrow.
