Everyone was waiting for this match. A full Chinese final between all time hero Lin Dan against new hero Shi Yuqi.

Shi Yuqi showed he was not afraid of Lin Dan and started with a lot of pressure. Lin Dan came close but did not manage to take control over the game as he lost the first one 21-19.

In the end of the second game, Lin Dan seemed to have seen the light as he rushed to win the second game with 21-16. That had woken up Shi Yuqi as he immediately dominated the third set and left Lin Dan with only 9 points. The legend was beaten.

- Regardless if I would win or lose today, there is so much I can learn of him, Shi Yuqi stated after his match.

My momentum

Shi Yuqi also played the All England final last year, but there he lost to the other legend: Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia). He has learned a lot from last year’s final.

- I think I was slow last All England final and did not show my momentum as a young player, Shi Yuqi mentioned.
