With the All England Open 2018 going on this week, the BWF world ranking list has been published today, presenting the new position changes.

Badminton Europe’s “Center of Excellence” player Felix Burestedt (Sweden) has climbed 20 positions up on the men’s singles world ranking list after getting into the finals in the Portuguese International 2018 and losing to Rasmus Messerschmidt (Denmark).

Felix is currently world no. 142. His best result has been no. 123, where he stayed for three weeks in 2017.

-It feels good. I just want to improve it as much as possible. For now I haven’t really set a goal. I am mostly focusing on improving my game. And then I believe that I can make good results and climb the world ranking, he tells Badminton Europe.

Big changes for singles players

Denmark’s Anders Antonsen climbed two spots up on the men’s singles world ranking list, currently occupying position no. 15. His compatriot Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus has advanced into top 20 again. Rajiv Ouseph (England) is going right after him, occupying position no. 21.

Kirsty Gilmour (Scotland) has moved one spot up and now she is no. 17 on the women’s singles world ranking list. Denmark’s Natalia Koch Rohde is no. 37 as she climbed one spot up. Neslihan Yigit (Turkey) moved seven spots up and she is currently world no. 40.

Denmark’s Anna Thea Madsen keeps on shining in European circuit tournaments. After becoming the women’s singles winner in the Austrian Open 2018, the Dane was a runner-up in the Portuguese International 2018 two weeks later. Currently she occupies position no. 116 on the women’s singles world ranking list – 22 spots up compared to last week.
Changes for winners and runners-up

German Open 2018 women’s doubles semifinalists Gabriela Stoeva/Stefani Stoeva (Denmark) climbed 4 spots up, currently occupying position no. 11.

Mixed doubles runners-up of the same tournament – Niclas Nohr/Sara Thygesen (Denmark) moved 15 spots up to get into top 40 on the mixed doubles world ranking list.

Men’s doubles runners-up in the Portuguese International 2018 – Mathias Bay-Smidt/Frederik Sogaard (Denmark) climbed two spots up to occupy position no. 59.
