The men’s singles player from Chinese Taipei is starting a streak at the BWF-tournament in Mülheim.

Chou Tien Chen also won the title in 2017 when he played against Tzu Wei Wang, and this year it was NG Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong that was his opponents.

The two played an 84-minute long final that drove them both the their limit. An entertaining match going into three games, which left Chou Tien Chen lying on his back on the court with both of his hands in the air.

He beat his opponent with the score 21-19, 18-21, 21-18 and expressed his joy to Badminton Europe after the prize ceremony.

- I do my best and try with all my work with my team mates, my coach, my physio, my whole team so it’s not just personally a successful, but I try to win for the team.

The 27-year-old men’s singles player explained that he likes to play these tournaments in Europe because the weather is very comfortable for him, and he feels that he can play longer matches.

He also expressed his hopes of returning next year to defend his title. He would want to make it match by match, but he hopes to be the winner for the third consecutive time in 2019.

On his way to the final, Chou Tien Chen beat players like Kento Momota and Kenta Nishimoto in the quarterfinal and semifinal, respectively.
