Mads Conrad-Petersen and Mads Pieler Kolding were forced to pull the plug on the men’s doubles quarterfinals against Malaysia’s Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong, late Friday evening.

- He has been like this all week. And we were thinking about next week, so we pulled out today and hopefully he can recover in time to play and Wednesday, Kolding said to Badminton Europe shortly after he and his partner had left the court.

Conrad himself went straight to the physio to take care of his injury after leaving the court. Kolding explain that his partner suffered from a strain in his back and stomach, and that he has been having this problem all week.

The Danes are now looking towards All England next week, and they are hoping that Mads Conrad will be able to recover in time.

Confidence on court
Not that it is making any difference now, but the Danes got off to a great start in the first game having entered the court with a lot of confidence.

But even though they started off by taking the lead, Goh and Tan crawled their way back, and at 19-19 they went for it and won it; 21-19.

- Goh and Tan are known to be there all the time, especially when it is 19 all and we knew that today.

- We had a lot of confidence coming into this tournament, playing with the new service rule so I am glad we got two matches and one and a half set. So, thinking about that I am hoping that we can play at next week’s All England.
