Badminton Europe started a competition via Voicestorm to promote badminton news and content. Badminton Malta’s president Chris Spiteri is in the leading spot after the first month.

The person who shares and promotes BEC’s news and content is in the running for tickets, hotel and flight tickets to YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships 2019 in the legendary arena in Birmingham.

Each month, the leader of the scoreboard will get a prize and Spiteri can expect a racket from Yonex in the mail any time soon. As the winner of December 2017, Spiteri will not be able to take the prize for January 2018.

- It feels great to win the prize, and while doing it, I kept updated with all that was happening at Badminton Europe and also made me follow more the international scene, Spiteri says.

The perfect opportunity
Chris Spiteri, 33, works as a project coordinator at Mediacoop, in Malta, and furthermore, serves as president for Badminton Malta. He took this opportunity to do his part for the sport while hoping to win the main prize to go to Birmingham.

-  Promoting Badminton on social media is important to get the sport more popular with my friends and 'online friends'. This is the perfect opportunity to do so, Spiteri explains and continues,

- Social media is very strong nowadays and it is vitally important for us to promote as much as possible to get the sports bigger and bigger in Europe.

Join the Voicestorm community
The Voicestorm competition is still running and will continue until 31 August 2018. A monthly winner will be found each month while counting down to the big moment where the overall winner can take home the prize of tickets to All England in 2019.

- It feels more like being a part of a community and a part of a joint effort to promote badminton on the local and international level, Spiteri says about why promoting badminton is important to him.

There is still plenty of time to join the competition! All you have to do is write an e-mail to Badminton Europe’s communications manager Rasmus Bech at rasmus.bech@badmintoneurope.com
