The 2018 European Men’s Team Championships draw followed shortly after the women’s. Centre of Excellence (COE) player Milan Ludík from Czech Republic joined Senior Manager Jimmy Andersen for the live draw.

The COE player took part in the 2016 edition of European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships. Back then, the event was hosted at the same venue in Kazan Russia, where the fortcoming edition is to be hosted in February 2018.

Ludík is looking forward to focus on his badminton on court now that he will be familiar with the location and the venue.

- It was a very nice tournament! Very well organized so I am very much looking forward to this and hope that it will be the same atmosphere with a lot of spectators, Ludík said when asked about what to expect for the 2018 event.

- I think a very interesting group will be group number 4, where there are many good teams against each other. So it will be interesting to see the result from that one, he added when asked where he would predict an upset in group stage.

Ludík will play in group 6
Ludík’s team from Czech Republic was drawn into group 6, with the sixth seeds Poland, Italy and Portugal.

- It will be some very interesting matches. Especially against Poland which are favourites, so we will have to try to our best. I am very much looking forward and hope for a good performance. Ludík said about the draw.

Jimmy Andersen pointed out that the Polish have a tradition for good men’s doubles and asked Ludík if he believes Czech Republic could have a decent chance in men’s singles;

- We will see, they are still a very strong opponent in men’s singles. But I hope it will be a good fight and I will do my best to gain the point for Czech Republic.
