Last week’s Scottish Open has been a successful tournament for European youngsters. Especially in the doubles the European juniors booked great results, which is shown in their ranking of November 30th.

Freja Ravn and Amalie Magelund (Denmark) reached the quarter finals in Scottish Open, which made them climb 11 spots. They now position the 22nd spot on the world junior ranking in women’s doubles. Amalie also reached the second round in mixed doubles, which made her climb 15 ranking spots and being number 15 of the world juniors mixed doubles players.

Zach Russ and Steven Stallwood (England) also reached the second round at Scottish Open in men’s doubles event. The week before they won the Czech Junior International. These tournaments made them climb 8 spots and they are now the number 22 (Zach) and 23 (Steven) of the world.

Fabio Caponio moving up in last year’s junior’s

Fabio Caponio (Italy) now occupies place number 35 in men’s singles after climbing 7 spots. He established this position by reaching the quarter final in Botswana International.

After the summer, Fabio has travelled around the world for tournaments. From Yogyakarta where the World Junior Championships was held, to Dominican Republic. After Santo Domingo Open, he travelled to Botswana. Currently he is playing Zambia International.

Except for the World Junior Championships, Fabio has not played any junior tournaments after the summer. After December, Fabio most probably will lose his junior ranking as he will be no junior player for BWF standards anymore.
