This Monday morning has been Matthieu Hecker’s very first day at Badminton Europe’s (BEC) office in Brøndby, Denmark.

Hecker, 23, have been studying marketing for six years and moving from France to Denmark is not unfamiliar for him. He studied one a half year abroad, six months in Montréal (Canada) and one year in the Danish city of Kolding.

From October 1st, Hecker is filling the position as Junior Manager for Events at BEC.

- Last year I started a master in sports marketing & events but I didn’t continue in order to take the position here at BEC.

Passion for badminton
Hecker has played badminton for more than 10 years and is still currently playing for Senart Badminton in France. The Frenchman even has some experience from the recent World Championships in Glasgow, where he worked for Badminton Scotland for four months.

- I have always been passionate about badminton and by sports events and that is what this job is all about so I don’t think I could have found something better.

- Also, I believe that the sport of badminton has great potential and that we will be able to do many things to grow the sport in Europe.
