Qualifying rounds for Japan Open have ended and for 25-year-old women’s singles player the tournament also ended on Tuesday.

It started out well with a win in the first match against Shuo Yun Sung of Korea; 23-21, 21-13.

- I was a bit nervous because I knew that my performance last week in Korea was quite bad and I had to improve a lot for this game if I wanted to win this time, Deprez tells Badminton Europe.

When the first rounds of women’s singles commence on Wednesday it will be without Deprez from Germany after her defeat to Haruko Suzuki in her second match.

Traces back from Korea Open
Frustrations from last week’s Superseries in Seoul affected the German in her performances on Tuesday.

- I was really frustrated last week, she explains.

- I couldn't handle the heavy wind in the hall. I can't remember the last time I played so badly.

Next up is Dutch Open
Deprez will go back to Europe to train for the upcoming tournaments, and next one will be the grand prix-tournament Dutch Open in Almere, Netherlands.

- I hope I can win some matches and improve myself step by step.

- I want to get to top 40 in the world this year. But it won't be easy because I have an army camp for 2 months in the end of October so I can't play any tournaments during that period.
