General Secretary of Badminton Europe, Brian Agerbak, is excited, that Paris was elected to host the Olympics in 2024.

Late Wednesday night it was announced, that Paris will host the Olympics in 2024, and Los Angeles will be the Olympic host in 2028.

- I just want to convey a huge congratulation to Paris. They have been working hard for it, and I’m delighted to see the Olympics coming back to Europe in 2024. And also a big congratulation to Los Angeles, Agerbak says.

Hopes to perform well on own Continent
The last time the Olympics was hosted by Europe was in 2012 in London, where European badminton picked up three medals, and Agerbak hopes, that it can be repeated in Paris.

- Of course there is a long time until 2024, but I hope that European badminton can perform as well, as we have done at the Olympics the last couple of times. And of course I hope that European players will perform very well on our own Continent.

It will be the third time that Paris is hosting the Olympics after hosting the event in 1900 and 1924.
