The Baltic U15 Team Camp was organized by the Latvian Badminton Federation and took place from 21st to 26th of August in Klaipeda, a city on the Lithuanian coast.
Once again, the Baltic camp was a proof of the good “badminton” cooperation between Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The 24 best U15 players from the 3 countries took part inthis intensive and sociable camp and were prepared for their new training cycle that begins on the 1st of September.
Besides the intensive training period, a badminton trickshots competition was organized. “Although there a lot of videos on the Internet with wonderful trick shots from the best badminton players, there are however no traditional competitions and general rules. Hopefully such trickshots competition will become an innovation in badminton” says Kristians Rozenvalds, general secretary of the Latvian Badminton Federation and initiator of the trick shot competition.
Rules for this competition were very simple: do as many trick shots as possible in 21 strokes.
The event during the camp was played in a joyful atmosphere. The players were motivated in learning new tricks and the winners could win Yonex awards.
Meanwhile, a serves competition was also held.
Overall, the Baltic U15 Team Camp was a great success and again a good way to promote badminton in the Baltic countries.
Badminton Europe would like to thank the Latvian Badminton Federation for the good cooperation and organization, but also Lithuania and Estonia for the participation.
