Badminton Europe is very excited to announce that Milan Ludík has decided to join the BEC Centre of Excellence. He is the very first player for the centre that Badminton Europe (BEC) has the honour of announcing to the public.

BEC has been in dialogue with Ludík and his member association, the Czech Badminton Federation, since the selection camp in Holbaek, in May. Today, Ludík Milan, 24, is officially a Centre of Excellence-player and starts up in September, in Holbaek.

“I am very excited to be selected by Badminton Europe to join the Centre of Excellence. I was following this project since beginning and when I got the chance I didn´t hesitate and joined the selection camp.”, Ludík says to BEC.

“I was very amazed in Holbeak. I could see all the work which Badminton Europe put into it. This kind of professional environment was exactly something I was looking for. I believe this will be a great opportunity for me to raise my level again and reach my future goals in badminton.”

His focus is to qualify for the Olympics in 2020, and he has been searching the perfect setting that could fit his priorities:

“It is an amazing idea from Badminton Europe to help out countries where badminton is not so developed and popular. It wasn´t easy for me to find good training possibilities in the past so I am very thankful.”

Badminton Europe is looking forward to collaborating with Ludík (currently ranked 81 in the world) and help him evolve and reach his goals, and, Ludík himself is excited to get started:

“I am looking forward for this challenge and I will do my best to use this opportunity to push my boundaries and reach my potential.”

Badminton Europe and the coaching staff are looking forward to welcoming all the players in Holbaek on 1 September 2017. Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the Centre of Excellence over the summer.
