The final list of qualified/confirmed players and pairs for Badminton Europe’s most prestigious event has been published today. 

3 phases and 3 Wild Cards after the eligibility date and the final list for the 26th European Championships was published by Badminton Europe (BEC) today. 

Total number of players participating:
48 Men’s singles                      
44 Women’s singles                
32 Men’s doubles                    
32 Women’s doubles               
32 Mixed doubles                    

The qualified/confirmed players/pairs, including the wild card entries in men’s singles, women’s singles and mixed doubles, can be seen by clicking here.

The eligibility date for the 2017 European Championships was 23 February 2017. During three phases, the in total 188 players from all over the Continent were confirmed by their associations.

“We are pleased to see that all of Europe’s best players are coming to Kolding, to compete at our most prestigious event”, Badminton Europe’s Senior Manager, Jimmy Andersen, said in connection with the publication of the entries. “The audience will witness a great show, and surely the Danish players will do their utmost to live up to the high expectations in front of their home fans – so we can only hope that we will see a big supporting audience over the 6 days in April.” 

This Monday, 13 March 2017, BEC exercised its right to nominate Wild Cards in men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles. We are delighted to announce that all three Wild Card nominations were confirmed by the respective member associations and the nominated players/pair are eligible to complete in Kolding.

Stay tuned for Friday 7 April 2017 when the announcement of seedings for the #EC17 will be announced, and for Tuesday 11 April when the draw will be conducted.

Don’t forget to buy your tickets for April 25-30, when the biggest European stars collide in Kolding, Denmark.
