Alongside his welcoming of all delegates participating in the Development & Administration Seminar held in Amsterdam, Badminton Europe's President Poul-Erik Høyer announced to the assembly that a contract has been signed between the Bulgarian Badminton Federation and Badminton Europe, awarding the 2012 European Senior Championships to Sofia, Bulgaria.

The event attracts up to 700 players from all over Europe, playing in 8 different age categories. On its meeting yesterday, 16 February, the Badminton Europe Council decided to include the 70+ category in the event regulations, so the 70+ age group will be played for the first time in Sofia, when the 2012 European Senior Championships is played from 17-22 September.

The event will be played in the brand new Armeets Arena in the centre of Sofia, and this fantastic venue will certainly offer the best possible conditions for the many players coming to the Bulgarian capital.

More information about the 2012 European Senior Championships will soon be available under the Event section.
