Badminton Europe is inviting all Member Associations to a BWF / BEC Shuttle Time Trainer’s/Tutor’s course, which is organised in close cooperation with the Badminton Federation of Wales.

The participants will be welcomed in Cardiff, Wales, on February 2nd and should be departing on February 5th, 2017. The course will then be held from February 3-5th.

Member Associations can send applications for up to two participants, and Badminton Europe will cover the accommodation in a twin room including breakfast and lunch on the days of the course.

The course is for Shuttle Time teachers who are already familiar with the course material and content of Shuttle Time.

Prerequisites for participants are the following:
  • Should be a coach and/or educator with high level presentation skills.
  • Should be experienced in planning and delivering workshops and courses for adults.
  • Should be a confident badminton player with a sound knowledge of the sport.
  • May have coached badminton in a school context.
  • Must have a very good understanding of Shuttle Time (e.g. goals of the programme, course material and content), of the Teachers’ Manual, Lessons Plans for teachers, and Tutors’ Guidelines.

Member Associations who are not familiar with Shuttle Time or meet any of these prerequisites should get in touch with BWF to receive all the resources and go through them before the start of the course.

In the “hierarchy” of Shuttle Time, this course is the next level for a Shuttle Time teacher. By passing a Trainer’s/Tutor’s Course, the teachers will a ‘Shuttle Time Trainer/Tutor’ and will able to teach the Shuttle Time methods to other school teachers and educate them into becoming ‘Shuttle Time Teachers’.

Badminton World Federation(BWF) implemented Shuttle Time in 2012 to make badminton one of the world’s most popular and accessible school sports. Visit their website on www.bwfshuttletime.com for more information.

How to register
All applications must be sent by the Member Associations. All Shuttle Time teachers who wishes to participate in the course, should reach out to their national Member Association, given that Badminton Europe only will accept applications from them.
