As 2016 European men’s and women’s team championships slips into top gear it is time for Europe’s young guns to make their entrance into what will most likely be the biggest arena of their young careers in badminton.

The European U15 individual events gets under way tomorrow morning and with a total of 162 players from 34 countries making the trip to Kazan and the event promises to build on the huge success from the inaugural double billing with the elite team events in Basel two years ago.

The event will run in tandem with the knockout stage of #EMWTC16 and will offer a big opportunity for the emerging stars of the game to get a feel for a big competition arena as well as seeing some of their badminton idols in action in the elite level team championships.

The boy’s singles has a total of 51 entrants with 59 girls entered into the individual event. In the doubles events there are 20 boys and 23 girl’s doubles entered with a staggering 42 pairs entered in the mixed doubles event.

England have the top two seeds in the boy’s singles with Harry Huang and Rory Easton and the English will also be hunting success in the boy’s doubles with Easton and Huang joining forces for the doubles event.

Denmark lead the seedings in the girl’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles with Mathilde Cramer Ahrens expected to bag a brace of medals for Europe’s leading badminton nation.
