Nine participants took part in the BWF coach education level 2 tutor course which was held from 13 to 15 November in Nicosia, Cyprus in close cooperation with the Cyprus Badminton Federation. The main goal of the course is to educate tutors so that the BWF level 2 coach education can be organized by the member associations themselves.

The course started on Friday morning and in the first hour the nine participants were introduced to the level 2 resources. They were taught how to use them and which subjects are in the level 2 course. After the introduction the participants who came from 4 different countries were given the first task. The focus in this task is on how to teach coaches technical progression. The participants were divided into two groups and had to deliver a session as a tutor to each other. After each session one tutor had to give feedback on the delivery. In the afternoon the course leaders Henrik Sørensen and Jeroen van Dijk explained how to make an annual planning where after the participants had to try it themselves.

On the second day the participants started with the delivery of a tactical progression session which they had prepared the evening before. The delivery of this session was done in the same way as the first task. Most of them were challenged in this session but they were learning a lot from each other and mistakes that were made before were not repeated. In the afternoon the focus was again on the annual planning. This time the participants had to make a trainings session in one of the five training phases and present them to their group. At the end of the day there was just some time left to start with the final delivery. The participants were asked to make a task for one of the other participants who had to deliver the task without any preparations.

The last day was used to finish the last task and to have the individual feedback talks where the participants get to know if the passed the course or not. They were also informed in which areas they can develop themselves.

Badminton Europe would like to thank the Cyprus Badminton Federation for making this course possible.
