World number one duo Lee Yong-dae and Yoo Yeon Seong ended the Korea Open campaign of Denmark’s Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen at the US$600,000 Victor Korea Open on Saturday. The Koreans eliminated third seeds Boe/Mogensen in three games and in just under 100 minutes 23-25, 22-20, 21-17.

“It was a crazy match today against Yoo/Lee, we had the chance in second game leading 19-17, argghhh, pretty disappointed right now that we couldn´t close the match. However in the bigger picture, being close to beating Yoo/Lee on home soil, with illness in the body and lack of practice, is not bad at all”, wrote the 2012 European Champions on their Facebook page.

Meanwhile, the men’s doubles final will see an all- Korean clash between top seeds Lee Yong-dae and Yoo Yeon Seong and the unseeded pair of Kim Gi Jung and Kim Sa Rang.

Adcocks’ run ended in the semi-finals

Chris and Gabby Adcock’s run in the Victor Korea Open came to a close in the semi-finals. The English pair made steady progress the final four but came unstuck against Indonesia’s 2013 world champions Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir who won 21-9 21-15.

Gabby said on Twitter afterwards: "They were much better than us in first three rallies today! Two pairs that seem to hurt us there but I guess that's why they're the best - at the moment.

"We struggled with the conditions also. But overall a decent tour with not great preparation! Looking forward to pushing on."

The mixed doubles final will feature Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir against familiar foes Zhang/Zhao Yunlei of China.

India's Ajay Jayaram continued his sensational run in Seoul, making his first Superseries final and setting himself up against defending champion Chen Long of China for the men's singles title. Jayaram, who upsets Denmark's Viktor Axelsen in the opening round, downed Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien-chen 21-19, 21-15 to advance to the final on Sunday.
