On 8, 9 and 10 May 2015, Badminton Europe in close cooperation with Badminton Sweden and Badminton club Fyrisfjädern AB organized a coach education level 1 tutor course. Thirteen participants from eight different countries took part. The course was led by Nathalie Mulders and Jeroen van Dijk.

The course started with the familiarization of the level 1 resources followed by the first practical task which was delivered straight on the badminton court. The first task is always a quite simple task to let the candidates experience how the course will be conducted. Just before lunch, the participants started to prepare for the second task wherein the role of the tutor is being trained. After lunch the, candidates started with the delivery of the five hour lasting exercise. In this session the participants had to work as a coach, tutor or player. This is the most difficult part of the course because the candidates have to find out the difference between being a coach or a tutor and they have to be open to receive feedback on what they have just delivered. The group handled the exercise well and left the hall at 18:30.

On the second day the participants were facing three tasks. In the first two exercises of the day they had to work and deliver in groups. The focus in these two sessions was on tactics and on how to give feedback as a tutor. In the last task of the day, which was also the final task of the course, the participants had to work individually again. Now they had to show what they had learned and did not get any help from the course leaders.

The first two hours of the third and final day was used on finishing the items that had not been touched or finished in the first two days. In the last two hours the participants had individual talks with the course leaders and were informed if they had passed the course or not. After lunch the participants were brought to the airport to travel back to their home destination.

Badminton Europe is organizing its next Coach Education course alongside the 2015 BEC Summer School held in Podcetrtek, Slovenia from 11-18 July 2015.
