Travel to Belgium and watch the games LIVE

The Belgium Badminton Federation have been synonymous with organising top class events over the past years with their flagship Yonex Belgian International one of the big events on the Badminton Europe circuit. This year’s European Mixed Team Championships will be held in the same arena as the annual Belgian International.

The expansive Sportoase Arena will be a fitting venue for such a major event and Leuven itself is only a short 15 minute car transfer from Brussels airport with direct flights serving the European parliament hub daily from all corners of the continent. There are also direct trains to Leuven from the airport and Brussels which depart regularly. Also from Paris, London and Amsterdam you can be in Brussels in 1.5 of 2.5 hours respectively by Eurostar.

The group matches will be played on the 11th & 12th February with three sessions each day at 1000, 14.30 and 1900 local time. The quarter finals on Friday split in two session at 1400 & 1900 local time, with semi-finals on Saturday again in two sessions with the final on Sunday 15th February at 1400 hours local time.

Tickets are available online by clicking HERE and remember if you want to do it in style there are a limited number of champagne packages available with VIP access available from €200.00

Remember if you are travelling to Leuven, Belgium is of course a proud member of the Euro zone with the Euro the local currency.

What to see in and around Leuven

No trip to Leuven would be complete without a trip to visit one of its breweries. Stella Artois is one of the more famous and the brewery is open for visits on Saturday and Sunday with prices from €8.50 per person. Click on www.breweryvisits.com for more information.

As a University suburb of Brussels a visit to the University Library Tower is a must. Spectacular views across the city are the reward for a strenuous climb up the stairs but every step is worth the effort. Visits cost €7.00 and the tower is open daily.

There are also a range of museums and buildings in the city and more information can be found at www.visitleuven.be

Finally Badminton Europe will have a limited run hard copy print of the latest edition of the BEC online magazine available to purchase in the arena. We look forward to seeing you there!
