Badminton Europe is delighted to announce that the 2015 BEC Summer School will take place in Slovenia. From 11 - 18 July 2014, the Slovenian Badminton Federation will host one of Badminton Europe’s biggest Development activities. The 34th edition will take place in the city of Podcetrtek in Eastern Slovenia, very close to the Croatian border.

"Podcetrtek offers fantastic facilities for players and coaches for an activity like this. The Coach Education Level 2 Tutor Course was taking place in Podcetrtek and we have been very satisfied with the facilities. So we are happy to go to Slovenia again for next year's BEC Summer School", says Jeroen van Dijk, Development Manager at Badminton Europe.

This initiative is the longest run development activity of Badminton Europe. It is expected to welcome participants from many of our Member Associations. In 2014, 54 players, 24 coaches and 10 staff coaches from 25 different countries met in Vejen Idrætscenter to have an unforgettable week around badminton.

The BEC Summer School is a combination of a training camp for talented junior players and a coach education course open to all European nations. The complete training programme is managed by 8-10 staff of experienced European Coaches including preferably at least some national junior coaches with a proven track record. The participating coaches are assisting the staff with the training of the talented youngsters and at the same time experience a coaching course led by the staff. The BEC Summer School aims to provide social interaction amongst participants as well as hard work and learning on the badminton court for the players, the coaches and the staff. Players and Coaches come from all over Europe to attend the Summer School.
