Preparations are well underway. In a few weeks the top youth players of the European badminton elite will be competing in Dornbirn, Austria.

The Austrian U17 Open will take place from June 17th to 19th, 2022. About 200 players from 16 countries will participate in this must-attend event that brings together European talents.

For some time now, the European tour has returned to normal, which is a great relief. The organizer is pleased to announce that no COVID restrictions are to be expected this year and thus the quality of recent years can be maintained.

The venue will be the Dornbirn fair ground, the training center of the Vorarlberg Badminton Association. This year a larger number of athletes are expected to arrive since the number of participants will not be limited by official regulations. Spectators will also be allowed to enter the hall to cheer on their favourite players.

TV Court 1 will also be broadcast via the Badminton Europe App for the first time this year.

This year the Victor Hofsteig Youth International (VHYI) tournament - where other age groups (U11, U13, U15) participate - will be held again in Wolfurt, Austria, in parallel to the Austrian U17 Open.

The new Tournament Director David Obernosterer, Tournament Manager Mario Pinheiro-Böttiger and the entire OK team are looking forward to a great tournament environment in the heart of Europe.
