Caldas says goodbye to a satisfactory running of the Tutor Level 1 Course, which closed a week full of learning.

Last Thursday the BWF/BEC Coach Education Level 1 came to an end just a day before the BWF/BEC Tutor Level 1 Course kicked off, and both were a success. It has been a great learning process for everyone.

A welcome and safe environment to grow
Both courses were delivered following COVID-19 guidelines, and everyone involved got to enjoy them safely. It was an opportunity for everyone to share different ideas and learn from each other.

- In the times we live in, we hope everyone feels welcome and safe. We also expect to learn new ways to do badminton and new ways of thinking about it, not only with the experts, but with everyone who came to Portugal to participate, General Secretary Portuguese Badminton Federation Patricia Rosa said.

Events that bring us together
There has been a lot of intensity in the tasks and assessments for participants and experts. BWF/BEC Tutor Level 1 Course participants got to enrich their knowledge and enhance their skills in their roles as tutors. Now, they will be able to put it in practice in their respective countries to contribute and improve the coaches’ education.

- These courses and all the events where we can meet in person bring us closer. They are extraordinary because they allow us to learn about the reality of other member associations, about their struggles, their victories, the path necessary for the development of badminton with better coaches and better players. This allows us to find different solutions for the same problem or challenge. It is really rewarding to host and participate in this type of event, Rosa said.

Participants have already received their feedback and returned to their home countries to begin the sometimes difficult but inspiring task of continuing with the improvement of badminton coaching in their countries and Europe.

- I am convinced that these days have been for both participants and experts, an incredible opportunity to learn from each other and to get out of their comfort zones, BEC Staff Mari Carmen Casermeiro stated.

The next BWF/BEC courses will be the Combined Course Level 1+2 from 8-16 November and the Tutor Level 2 Course from 17 to 19 November.
