Kati-Kreet Marran and Helina Rüütel got a good win against Vimala Heriau and Margot Lambert in the first round of Denmark Open.

The four players walking on court for the Estonian-French matchup on the second day of Denmark Open are four of the European talents to look out for, and the fans following the tournament will get an extra chance to watch the Estonians tomorrow.

Kati-Kreet Marran and Helina Rüütel, who won the first tournament after the COVID-19 lockdown, Latvia International, won in straight games against Heriau and Lambert, who are ranked 13 spots higher on the world ranking than the Estonians.

Another French opponent?
Marran and Rüütel won 21-14 21-15 and are ready for the second round, where they will be facing either Danish Amalie Cecilie Kudsk/Signe Schulz or another French pair: Anne Tran/Emilie Lefel.

- We are happy to be back after a long break. I have been injured as well, but now we are back at one of the big tournaments, so I am happy. We did not make any easy mistakes, we controlled the game most of the time, and the service situation was good for us, Rüütel stated.

- We are happy that we played Latvia International before coming here, because we did not play for a long time, and it was a good way to test our doubles, Marran added.
