Due to the COVID-19 situation the 2020 Annual Delegates’ Meeting (ADM) in Copenhagen will not take place. For the first time in history Badminton Europe will therefore host its ADM virtually.

On 5 August 2020 Badminton Europe’s Members were invited to attend the 2020 BEC Congress in Copenhagen from 16-17 October. On Thursday 27 August the Badminton Europe Board of Directors decided that Badminton Europe is not able to conduct the Congress face-to-face this year.

Instead Badminton Europe will host the ADM virtually on Saturday 17 October. The meeting will commence at 10:00 CEST, with the registration and log in starting from 09:00 CEST.

In connection with the preparations of the Congress, it appeared that too many delegates are likely to have difficulties travelling to Copenhagen and/or are met with quarantine restrictions upon their return from Denmark following the Congress.

Hope to meet in 2021
It is the utmost wish of Badminton Europe, and ambition, that as many delegates and Members as possible can attend the BEC Congress, in particular the ADM, and with this in mind the BEC Board of Directors has decided to host the ADM virtually this year.

- I am of course sad that we cannot welcome our European badminton family in Copenhagen, but given the circumstances it is the right decision for the ADM to be virtual this year, Badminton Europe President, Peter Tarcala stated.

- It will be our first ever virtual ADM and I hope to see all our Members online in October, and I hope that we in 2021 again can meet face-to-face in Ukraine, he added.

In the same connection it was also decided to cancel the Members’ Forum in 2020.
