Following the China Open, across the Yellow Sea, Seoul Korea is the location for the next spectacle in the Badminton calendar.

Day one featured the qualification rounds, and the first round for the Mixed Doubles. And it was Mathias Christiansen and Christinna Pedersen, the number two seeds from Denmark, who caught the eye. They were up against a Hong Kong pair hoping to be inspired by the recent Mixed Doubles success by their compatriots. However, it was the Danes who controlled the game and secured a solid 21-15, 21-15 win.

In round two they will play Malaysian pair Chen Tang Jie and Peck Yen Wei. And following the news of the withdrawal of World Champions and number one seeds Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong, the draw has opened nicely for them to be looking at that top podium.
