The Croatian International 2018 is over. With a big field of European participants, the last day of the tournament consisted of all European finals. Eight different nations were represented in the finals, so the strengths were evenly distributed through the different events.

Mariya Mitsova (Bulgaria) was responsible for one of the two titles Bulgaria took home. She was the favourite to win the tournament and her dominance was clear until the final.

- The final was definitely my hardest match, the Dane was fighting really hard.

- I made a lot of unforced errors which dragged the control of the game out of my hands. But in the end of both games I’m happy I managed to focus and take the win.

Put work into practice

That has meant a tournament win in Croatia for Mitsova without any game loss. Also in mixed doubles she put out a good performance. Only in semi-final she and Dimitar Yanakiev went down for the later winners Pawel Pietryja and Aneta Wojtkowska (Poland).

- My coach and I have been working on a few particular things in my game the last few weeks and I’m happy I managed to put them into practice this weekend.

- I am overall pleased with my performance!
