Ville Lång and Christian Lind fighted for 105 minutes to book a ticket for tomorrow’s quarterfinals of the Yonex German Open in Mülheim. At the end it was the Finnish number one who had the better answers in the rubber-set of this epic battle. Thanks to a 19-21, 21-19, 21-16 victory, Ville Lång, moved into the quarters and will face Indonesian Tommy Sugiarto.

“It was a very long match. I did not feel tired at all but for me it was mentally very tough. I had to keep the focus all the time else I would have lost the points too quickly. I have beaten my next opponent at the Italian International. But I would say I am not the favourite tomorrow .But everything can happen. Let’s see tomorrow”, the current number one of the Badminton Europe Circuit rankings said.

There are still plenty of Europeans in the tournament. Jan Ø. Jørgensen and his compatriots Hans Kristian Vittinghus and Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Juhl reached the quarterfinal stage of the Grand-Prix Gold event (120.000 US Dollars) as well as the home favourites Juliane Schenk, Birgit Michels/Sandra Marinello and Michael Fuchs/Sandra Marinello.
