Happy New Year - and welcome to the year of Badminton Europe’s 50th anniversary. To mark this, we have updated and added new features to our website: badmintoneurope.com.

In order to make the work by our commissions more transparent to our members, it was decided to divide the grey sub-menu between the ten commissions. Each commission now has their own main page where the user easily can find the strategic plan, terms of reference, members of the commission, activities that the commissions are responsible for, plus other relevant information. We hope that this new addition can help make the structure and work of the confederation clearer.

The design and appearance on the commission pages has been made more user friendly with boxes including a photo and explaining text below. The content from the previous main page’s sub-menu, such as ‘Jobs’, ‘Downloads’, ‘Technical Officials’ e.g., can now be found in a box on the new main page, instead. The user will find that the content is much similar to what it was before, but that the changes made focus mainly on the appearance and the user experience.

For the fans
A new feature to badmintoneurope.com is a page for the fans! We are delighted to debut this new page that you will find in the top menu furthest to the right. By clicking there, fans can get easy access to news and features about the very best players in Europe. The content encompasses among many; rankings, Badminton Europe’s news landing page and online magazine, list of awards, link to our social media, Badminton Manager, and BE.TV where the live streams from the circuit airs.

Furthermore, U17 and para-badminton tournaments has been added to the main calendar on the main page, so that the calendar represents all the different activities in the confederation.

We have been working hard during the last couple of months to prepare these new features for you, and we hope you will find the fitting and useful.

2017 has just begun and we are looking very much forward to the many Championships coming up the next many months. Join us in Poland February 15th for the European Mixed Team Championships, in France April 7th for the European Junior Championships, in Denmark April 25th for the European Championships, and in Italy June 20th for the European Club Championships.

Finally, the TOTAL BWF World Championships are being organized once again on the continent, this time in Scotland the coming August.

Our 50th anniversary will get a special celebration at the Annual Delegates’ Meeting this spring in Prague, where we will have a grand Gala on April 1st. More information will follow about the weekend in Czech Republic.

Until then, Badminton Europe wishes everyone and all of its members a happy 2017!
