The official Badminton Europe Facebook page continues to grow at a rapid pace. Last week during the World Championships in Copenhagen, Badminton Europe passed the 50.000 mark on the popular social networking site.

By Tuesday afternoon, precisely 50.592 fans had pushed  the ‘Like’ button on the official Badminton Europe fan page (www.facebook.com/badmintoneurope). The page provides followers with daily information, news, videos and live photo galleries from the biggest badminton events in Europe. And of course, there's every opportunity for fans to voice opinions, leave comments and chat to each other.

“I am very satisfied that we now start to harvest the results of all the efforts we have put into social media over the years. Next to our official website - www.badmintoneurope.com - our channels on Youtube, Twitter and facebook are important tools in reaching badminton fans all over the world, even if our focus is on Europe and on European players, events and development activities”, said Badminton Europe General Secretary, Brian Agerbak

Following its launch in early 2010, BEC’s Facebook presence raced to top spot among the badminton community. The page passed the 20.000 follower mark in early January 2014 and the 25.000 mark in April this year. Viewed in an international context, the Facebook page dedicated to the European badminton community is one of the world’s biggest official badminton facebook sites. The Badminton World Federation is at the top of the ranking with more than 140.000 followers.
