2014 Women in Badminton Award winner is Anu Nieminen (Finland):



Anu is from Finland, but has been living in Denmark since 1996. She was a professional badminton player: her highest world ranking ever in women singles is 13, she is a four time Olympic participant and 22 times Finnish National Champion (12 singles, 7 doubles, 3 mixed doubles). She opened her Badminton Academy in Copenhagen in 2013 where she coaches full time and part time badminton players also. She has special focus on female players as she has a good understanding on the needs of a female player to reach their best.


She is also involved in a project for female badminton players as a role model of a female coach. She is the National Coach of Finland U-19 team. She is very active in developing Finnish Badminton and to get more top female players to become coaches.
